Charles Stocking winner of local Jefferson Award

The National Jefferson Awards are recognized as the Nobel Prize for public and community service. Charles Stocking, president and CEO of Principle Business Enterprises, was honored as a local winner of the Jefferson Award on March 12, 2008.

The Jefferson Awards were created in 1972 by the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Senator Robert Taft, Jr., to highlight the works of unsung heroes. A network of newspapers and television stations in local communities all across the country honor volunteers for civic and neighborhood improvement.

Corporate Citizen of the Year

In accepting the award, Chuck Stocking commented, “Wood County employees are the best. They are creative, salt of the earth.”
